Naturally I headed down to my local library and...no, no I totally didn't leave my couch let alone my house. You see, we live in the future now where there are whole books that have been scanned into computers and are now available on the interwebs. So I poked around the U of M library website and lo and behold, I found the entire 1950s Physician's Guide to Diabetes in its entirety just waiting for me.
Take home lesson #2: You have no excuse not to do thorough research for your novel when primary source material is now available in the comfort and laziness of your own home.
